ABOUT US

Jitegemee Holdings Company (JHCL) Ltd is a comprehensive mining company with corporate offices in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, East Africa. The Company (JHCL) was registered under BRELA on 17th March 2020. The company is fully owned by credible Tanzanian institutional investor(s) and operated 100% by Tanzanians with the ultimate goal of developing the country to its maximum potential.

The company started its first project in May 2021 on mining and sale of coal at Ntunduwaro village, Mbinga district in the Ruvuma region at a Northern Ngaka geological corridor. The Company
operates four coal mining licences with the largest coal deposits than any other mining company in East Africa. The company generates more than TZS 90 billion revenue annually.

As a mining company, JHCL brings together prominent professionals from diverse fields of mining fields such as geologists, mine engineers, environmental scientists, quality control professionals, business development, legal professionals and corporate leadership to generate informed analyses and responses to contemporary challenges in mining and energy sector.

With a dedicated and competent workforce at the mining sites, and at the corporate office, the company has a key clientele base that includes small and large energy consumers from East and Central Africa as well as India, China and Pakistan. Some prominent clients from the region include Heidelberg Cement Group (Tanga Cement), Dangote Industries Limited, Lake Cement Company Limited, Lafarge Tanzania, Maweni Limestone (Huaxin) Limited, Goodwill Ceramics Uganda, Keda Ceramics Kenya, National Cement Kenya and Rwanda, Tembo Steel Uganda, Hima Cement Uganda, BUCECO in Burundi etc.

Our clients range from small to large energy consumers and are major manufacturing and industrial processors among private companies, government agencies and multinationals. JHCL strives to support the large energy consumers in the region through timely delivery, innovative advisory, and support services.

The Company is also operating a large sea salt farm in Kilwa district, Lindi region. In May 2024, the company embarked into construction of a large edible and industrial salt refinery factory in Kilwa district. The plant is expected to be commissioned in October 2025. This plant will be a game changer to JHCL and small salt farmers in Lindi and Mtwara region who do not have reliable market to sell their harvested salt. The factory will also place JHCL into a salt map in Tanzania and the region as one of the largest players in the salt supply chain.

In April 2025, the company opened a new factory for coal briquettes in Ruvuma region to support Government initiatives for alternative energy. More than 80% of Tanzanians uses firewood as their primary source of cooking energy. This initiative will substantively contribute to reduction of over- dependency on charcoal/firewood which has great impact on deforestation.

Other key company projects include Fluorite mining in Ruvuma and aggregate mining in Dodoma which are at different stages of development and implementation.

Sustainability

JHCL is committed to the sustainable development of the communities surrounding it and has continuously demonstrated this by actively partnering with the Government in improving social services including education, health and roads as well as other economic activities for the community surrounding the mine and other areas. The company has won first and second position as a top tax payer for Ruvuma Region for the past 2 years.

In 2024, JHCL was declared and awarded by the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), as the ‘Highest contributor to the Government Revenue’ among all Primary Mining Licence Holders in Tanzania, the award we received with greatest humility.
