The Regional Commissioner of Lindi, Hon. Zainab Telack, has commended Jitegemee Holdings Company Limited for its major investment in Lindi Region.The commendation was made during her visit to Jitegemee’s new and modern salt processing plant located in Miteja Village, Kilwa District.Hon. Telack said the presence of the plant will greatly benefit the people of the area, as they are large-scale salt producers and have long needed an investor to buy their produce.
“This plant has come at the right time. Our people here in Miteja are major salt producers and for a long time they have been in need of an investor. Now Jitegemee has brought the solution,” Hon. Telack stated.
She added that the plant is in its final stages of official launch and will soon begin serving the community by producing salt that meets international standards.
This investment is expected to create many jobs for youth and women in Lindi Region, while also boosting the economy of the area.
