Our Story
Jitegemee Holdings Company Limited
is a dynamic mining company headquartered in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Registered in 2020 and wholly owned and operated by Tanzanian professionals, our core mission is to contribute to Tanzania’s development.
We began in 2021 with coal mining in the Ruvuma region. Today, we operate four coal mining licenses with significant deposits, generating over TZS 90 billion annually. Our expert team of professionals across the mining sector serves a broad clientele in East and Central Africa, and internationally.
Beyond coal, JHCL operates a large sea salt farm in Kilwa, Lindi region, and is constructing a major salt refinery factory (commissioning expected in October 2025) to support local farmers and expand our presence in the salt supply chain. In addition, we opened a coal briquettes factory in Ruvuma in April 2025 to support alternative energy initiatives.
JHCL is also developing fluorite mining in Ruvuma and aggregate mining in Dodoma. We are driven by a vision of growth, sustainability, and contributing to the prosperity of Tanzania and the wider East African region.
